About the role

Rod's Bakery is seeking skilled and passionate Bakers to join our team on a full-time basis at our Lara, Victoria location. As a Baker, you will be at the heart of our operation, responsible for producing high-quality baked goods that our customers love and rely on. This role is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring that fresh, delicious products are available to our community every day.

You will work in a fast-paced bakery workplace, where precision, creativity, and dedication to craft are valued and celebrated.

What you'll be doing

- Preparing and mixing dough and batter according to established recipes and quality standards

- Operating and maintaining bakery equipment including ovens, mixers, and other specialised machinery

- Shaping, portioning, and proofing bread and pastry products

- Monitoring baking times and temperatures to ensure consistent product quality and appearance

- Decorating cakes, pastries, and other baked goods as required

- Maintaining strict hygiene and food safety standards throughout the baking process

- Managing inventory of ingredients and baking supplies

- Working flexibly with early morning shifts to ensure fresh products are ready for opening

- Collaborating with team members to meet daily production targets and deadlines

What we're looking for

- Proven experience as a Baker or in a similar baking role, ideally within a commercial bakery setting

- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food preparation methods

- Ability to work efficiently and maintain high standards in a fast-paced environment

- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to product quality and consistency

- Good physical stamina,



as the role involves standing for extended periods and lifting heavy items
- A reliable and punctual approach to work, particularly important given early morning shift requirements

- Robust teamwork and communication skills

- Food safety certification or willingness to obtain certification

- Relevant qualifications or apprenticeship in baking (preferred but not essential for experienced candidates)
