Building Manager / Maintenance Technician

Precision Facilities Management | Canberra | Full-time | Monday to Friday, 7:30am–3:30pm

Do you like fixing things, solving problems and being the person a building can rely on? We’re looking for a hands-on Building Manager to look after residential buildings in Canberra and keep them safe, well maintained and running smoothly for the people who live there.

About the role

You’ll be the go-to person on site, based at one residential building or splitting your week across two. Reporting to our General Manager and Operations Manager, you’ll handle day-to-day repairs and maintenance, coordinate contractors, waste management, keep residents informed and look after the building’s assets. You’ll have the freedom to run your site your way, with an experienced team behind you when you need support.

What you’ll do

- Carry out general repairs and maintenance, including carpentry, painting, patching, plastering, tiling and minor fixes

- Coordinate and supervise contractors on site, making sure work is protected, compliant and done properly

- Schedule and track preventative maintenance on the building’s plant and assets

- Be the friendly, professional point of contact for residents,



owners and service providers

- Respond quickly to on-site issues such as leaks, power failures and alarms

- Prepare clear written reports and recommendations using our app-based system

- Occasionally attend Executive Committee meetings and AGMs, where your knowledge of the building will count

What we’re looking for

- Solid practical handyperson skills and real pride in your work

- Great people skills: you build rapport quickly and stay calm when things go wrong

- Reliable and self-motivated, comfortable working independently

- Organised, with a good eye for detail

- Confident using app-based software and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)

- Able to obtain a National Police Check

Nice to have, but not essential (the right attitude matters more):

- Building or facilities management experience
- A trade certificate

- Painting and plastering experience
- A White Card
