Hughes
Business Development & Marketing Executive
Two businesses. One seriously exciting opportunity.
Canberra | Part-Time, 2 Days Per Week | $45,000–$55,000 Super
We're not looking for someone to just manage our social media. We're looking for someone who can help grow our businesses. You'll dream up a clever campaign on Monday, walk into a real estate agency and build a relationship on Tuesday, create compelling content on Wednesday and turn an idea into a genuine commercial opportunity. Someone who thinks strategically but isn't afraid to get their hands dirty. Someone who sees opportunities, takes ownership and makes things happen.
Residential Reports (RR) is a well-established Canberra business with more than 20 years of experience in the property inspection industry. We've built our reputation on quality, relationships and service, and we are working hard to strengthen our market position and explore new opportunities. Arcsite is our exciting property technology business, developing innovative digital solutions that change the way builders, building managers and property owners manage building information, maintenance and handovers.
One business has a strong foundation and an established market. The other has enormous potential to grow. Your job is to take both to the next level.
What will you actually be doing?
A bit of everything, and that's exactly why this role is interesting.
- Build relationships that generate business. Get out and meet real estate agents, builders, developers and industry partners. Strengthen existing relationships and open new doors.
- Develop smart growth strategies. Identify opportunities, develop practical marketing and business development plans, and help turn those plans into measurable results.
- Create campaigns that get noticed. From creative promotions and agent engagement initiatives to product launches, email campaigns and industry partnerships.
- Own our social media presence. Develop engaging content, manage our channels and build awareness across both brands.
- Get creative. Write compelling copy, put together presentations, develop marketing collateral and bring fresh ideas to the table.
- Drive Arcsite's growth. Help introduce an exciting technology platform to new markets, generate leads and build a pipeline of prospective customers.
- Track what works. Monitor activity, follow up opportunities, measure results and continually improve our approach.
We don't expect one person to be an expert in absolutely everything. But we do need someone resourceful enough to find solutions, organise support where needed and keep things moving.
Who are we looking for?
You're likely an experienced marketing and business development professional with proven sales experience who enjoys variety and has developed a broad set of skills.
What matters most is that you:
- Have genuine commercial instinct and understand that marketing needs to generate business.
- Are confident, personable and comfortable walking into a room and building relationships.
- Can think strategically and execute independently.
- Have strong writing,
communication and creative skills.
- Are comfortable with digital marketing, social media, Canva and modern business tools.
- Are proactive, organised and accountable.
- Have plenty of initiative and don't need someone constantly directing your next move.
- Enjoy the challenge of working across different brands, customers and industries.
Experience in property, construction, professional services or technology would be fantastic, but it isn't essential. Attitude, ability and initiative matter far more to us than a particular industry background.
Here's what makes this opportunity different
This isn't a job where you'll spend your days waiting for campaign approvals from five layers of management.
You'll work directly with the business owners, have the freedom to contribute ideas, influence decisions and actually see your work make a difference. You'll have the variety of two very different businesses, the stability of an established company and the excitement of helping a growing technology platform find its place in the market, importantly, this role has room to grow.
The details
Location: Canberra, with regular face-to-face client and industry engagement
Hours: Two days per week initially, with potential to increase as the businesses grow
Remuneration: $45,000–$55,000 per annum for the part time position, plus superannuation.
Start: By agreement
If you're an experienced all-rounder who loves variety, thrives on ownership and wants the opportunity to make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you. When applying, please include your CV, write to us from you (not chat!) and tell us about the reasons why you are the perfect fit.
