We are looking for an Intermediate Accountant to join our business services team. Working alongside and supporting our senior accountants, you will assist with year-end compliance work across a range of entity types, with plenty of exposure to interesting client work and room to build your technical skills.
Key responsibilities
- Assisting senior staff with the preparation of financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships and trusts
- Preparing BAS, IAS, PAYG and payroll tax lodgements, and assisting with FBT returns
- Bank reconciliations, general accounting duties and preparing workpapers to review standard using our standard checklists
- Liaising with clients to gather information and resolve queries
- Completing your allocated jobs within budget and deadlines
About you
- Minimum 2 years experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm
- Degree qualified in accounting, and either completed or working towards CA or CPA
- Solid working knowledge of Xero; experience with XPM and FYI is a plus
- Comfortable working in a cloud based, paperless office
- Attention to detail is essential
- Able to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines
- Proactive in following up outstanding information and keeping your jobs moving
- Shows initiative, with good listening skills and the ability to retain instructions and processes
- Well presented, with clear, professional written and verbal communication
