Build the systems behind a growing global brand
Nomad Design Tackle is an Australian-founded fishing tackle business with operations across Australia and the United States and continued international growth ahead.
We are looking for an experienced Business Systems Manager to lead and deliver practical technology improvements across Nomad. You will bring substantial hands-on experience in business systems, applications, integrations, software delivery, data engineering or solutions development. With autonomy over day-to-day technical decisions, you will turn business priorities into secure, reliable systems, applications and AI-enabled solutions.
This is an opportunity to do more than administer existing software. You will work directly with our CEO and business leaders to identify worthwhile opportunities, design practical solutions and build or implement systems that improve efficiency, decision-making and customer outcomes.
You might automate the conversion of emailed purchase orders into system orders, connect platforms through APIs, create an internal web application, improve forecasting workflows, automate reconciliations or develop tools that help sales teams identify and act on customer opportunities.
The role combines technical delivery, solution design and business improvement. It will suit someone who enjoys understanding how a business works and then getting their hands dirty building something better. What you will own:Maintain and improve Nomad’s internal management and decision-support platform.
Design, build and support secure applications, integrations, APIs,
automations and AI-enabled workflows across Nomad’s business systems.
Translate business requirements into reliable technical solutions, supported by practical standards for data, integration, testing, deployment, monitoring and documentation.
Maintain system connections, data pipelines and quality controls so business information is accurate, traceable and practical.
Work with Section Leaders, HR and the Senior Leadership Team to implement human-AI workflows with clear business ownership, decision rights and human oversight.
Assess solutions for security, privacy, reliability, cost and business value, and implement technical controls supporting applicable Australian and international requirements.
Manage technology vendors, engage specialists where required, monitor production systems and resolve IT issues escalated by the Office Manager. You should be able to demonstrate:
Experience designing, building, deploying and supporting business applications, integrations or automations.
Strong practical capability with APIs, databases, SQL, data transformation and systems integration, supported by programming or scripting skills.
Experience using AI-assisted development tools and implementing AI-enabled workflows in a production environment.
Sound software delivery and security practices, including testing, source control, access management, monitoring and documentation.
Commercial judgement and the ability to explain technical choices, risks and trade-offs clearly to business leaders.
The confidence to challenge unsafe or unnecessarily complicated solutions and recommend a practical alternative.
Experience with ERP, inventory, ecommerce or consumer-product businesses will be highly regarded. Exposure to platforms such as Cin7 Core, Shopify, Amazon, Microsoft 365, Azure, BigQuery, Dataform or Power Platform would be valuable, but you do not need to have used every system in our environment. Why join Nomad?Take ownership of a newly established function and help shape how Nomad uses systems, data and AI.
Build practical solutions used across our Australian and United States operations.
Work directly with senior decision-makers in a growing business without unnecessary corporate layers.
Join an Australian-founded fishing brand with an international customer base and ambitious growth plans. How to applyPlease submit your résumé and a short cover letter describing:
A business application, integration or automation you personally designed and delivered.
The technologies you used and the parts you completed yourself.
How you managed security, testing, deployment and ongoing support.
A practical AI-enabled workflow you have implemented, or would be confident implementing, in a production business environment.
Applicants must have unrestricted working rights in Australia.
