- open and close the store;
- serve and assist customers;
- operate the POS/register and process payments;
- make coffee, hot chocolate and other drinks;
- heat and serve ready-made food (no cooking from scratch) and cut and prepare confectionery samples for customer tastings;
- package products when required;
- restock shelves and maintain attractive displays;
- conduct stocktakes and monitor stock levels;
- prepare and place stock orders;
- receive and organise deliveries;
- check stock rotation and best-before dates;
- keep the stockroom organised;
- ensure cups, bags, packaging and other supplies are always available;
- clean counters, shelves, equipment and customer areas;
- sweep and mop floors;
- keep the café and entire store exceptionally clean and presentable;
- prepare the store for busy weekends and holiday periods;
- report stock shortages or maintenance issues to the owners;
- clean the shop windows and ensure the premises are maintained to a high standard of cleanliness;
- clean and maintain the toilets;
- keep the inside of the house/premises clean, tidy and presentable;
- keep the preparation area clean and hygienic;
- clean the lolly barrels, tongs, fridges and other equipment regularly;
- ensure all relevant Health Department requirements are followed;
- ensure soap dispensers and paper towel dispensers are always adequately stocked;
- purchase or collect milk, sugar, napkins and other small commodities as required;
- collect stock from a particular location when required;
- ensure the shop and surrounding areas are completely clean, tidy and presentable;
- ensure the air conditioner is switched on when required, particularly during hot weather, to protect the chocolate and other products from melting;
- turn off lights and the air conditioner at the end of the day/night where appropriate; and
- assist with general duties required for the smooth operation of the business.
You are also required to undertake any other duties directed by us from time to time. Pay: $28.00 – $29.00 per hour
