About the role

L.J.S Building Group Pty Ltd is seeking a qualified Carpenter based in or near Geelong to deliver residential and commercial carpentry work across the Geelong and surrounding areas. Our base of operations is in Ballarat, so this role suits someone who lives locally to Geelong and is comfortable working with a team and management based elsewhere, with travel to job sites and occasional travel to our Ballarat base.

Key responsibilities

- Wall and roof framing for new homes, extensions and renovations
- Installing doors, windows, architraves, skirting and other fix-out items
- Building decks, pergolas, verandahs and stairs
- Installing kitchens, cabinetry, wardrobes and shelving
- Flooring installation, including timber and sub-floor framing
- Repairs and maintenance on existing structures
- Steel and timber stud partition walls and bulkheads
- Suspended ceiling installation
- Commercial door and hardware installation, including fire-rated doorsets
- Shop, office, retail and hospitality fit-outs

About you

- Certificate III in Carpentry (CPC30220 or equivalent) or a completed carpentry apprenticeship
- Construction Induction Card (white card)
- Current full Australian driver's licence




- Minimum 3 years' post-trade experience in residential and/or commercial carpentry
- Live in or within commuting distance of Geelong, and be willing to travel to Ballarat and other sites, including occasional overnight stays
- Ability to read and interpret building plans and specifications
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work, including lifting and working at heights
- Own basic hand and power tools
- Australian working rights
