Youth Outreach

Southport

Youth Outreach is looking for vibrant Youth Workers who understand that one path doesn't determine your direction.

About Us For over 40 years, we have supported young people through accommodation assistance, support services, and pathways to independence.

We are a charity governed by a purpose-driven volunteer Management Committee and are committed to ending the cycle of youth homelessness while increasing access to affordable and sustainable housing opportunities. We deliver services that meet the contemporary needs of young people through a person-centred, trauma-informed approach and promote a culturally safe, diverse, and inclusive workplace.

Social Change

We are focused on breaking the cycle of youth homelessness and creating lasting positive outcomes for young people.

Ethical

We hold ourselves accountable to our principles through integrity, honesty, transparency, and purpose.

About Our Service

Our Temporary Supported Accommodation Services are delivered by the Youth Outreach team and funded through the Department of Housing as Specialist Homelessness Services.

Our 24/7 accommodation programs support young people aged 16-19 years who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. We provide accommodation assistance while supporting young people to develop the independent living and tenancy skills required to gain, maintain, and sustain long-term housing outcomes.

- Identify, assess, and respond to risks while maintaining a protected living environment for young people and staff.

Previous experience in residential care, youth homelessness, supported accommodation, or related human services settings will be highly regarded.

Successful applicants must have the flexibility to provide shift coverage at short notice, as well as during periods of planned leave. A combination of day, evening, weekend, public holiday, and sleepover shifts will be available as part of a 24/7 roster.

Child Safe Organisation

Youth Outreach is committed to being a child-safe organisation where the safety, wellbeing, and rights of children and young people are at the centre of everything we do.

We have zero tolerance for child abuse, harm, neglect, or exploitation and are committed to creating environments where young people feel safe, respected, heard, and empowered.
