About the Role

We are looking for an experienced, reliable and passionate Chef or Cook to join our kitchen team at Commercial Hotel Broadford.

The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking quality pub-style meals, maintaining high kitchen standards and ensuring customers enjoy a consistent dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

- Prepare, cook and present high-quality traditional Australian pub meals.
- Manage daily food preparation and kitchen operations.
- Maintain consistency in food quality, taste, presentation and portion sizes.
- Assist with creating weekly specials and seasonal menu items.
- Monitor stock levels, assist with ordering and minimise food wastage.
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness, hygiene and food safety standards.
- Follow food safety procedures and relevant Victorian regulations.
- Work efficiently during busy lunch and dinner services.
- Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
- Assist with food costing and portion control.
- Maintain kitchen equipment and report maintenance issues.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience as a Chef or Cook, preferably in a pub,



hotel, bistro or restaurant.
- Ability to prepare traditional pub meals, including steaks, parmas, burgers, seafood and daily specials.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Robust time management and organisational skills.
- Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements.
- Ability to work under pressure during busy service periods.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.
- Relevant commercial cookery qualifications preferred, depending on the role.
- Reliable, punctual and positive attitude.
