We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook/Chef to join our team. In this Part Time role, you will be responsible for planning, ordering and preparing healthy meals and snacks that cater to the dietary needs of our children while ensuring a positive and welcoming mealtime experience.

The position is Part Time being Monday to Friday between the hours of 7.30am and 2.00pm with no weekend or night shifts. If you are looking at getting your weekends and nights back, then this is the job for you.

Key Responsibilities:

- Plan, order and prepare balanced, nutritious meals and snacks for 70 children per day in accordance with dietary guidelines and food safety standards.
- Cater to specific dietary needs and restrictions (e.g., allergies, cultural preferences).
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, following health and safety regulations.
- Collaborate with staff to create a positive mealtime atmosphere, encouraging healthy eating habits.
- Manage inventory, including ordering and purchasing food supplies as needed.




- Keep accurate records in line with Food Safety Standards.
- Engage with children during mealtimes to promote social interaction and healthy eating practices.

Qualifications:

- Previous experience in a childcare setting as a cook is preferred.
- Robust knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for young children birth to 6 years.
- Food Handling and Food Safety Supervisor Certification.
- Completed or willing to complete the mandatory Child Safety Training Course 1 to 4 via Geccko.
- Hold a valid Blue Card.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Passion for cooking and nurturing healthy habits in children.
