Commune is looking for an experienced, reliable and creative Cook / Chef to join our team on Brunswick Street, Fitzroy.
We serve Turkish-inspired brunch with a mix of bold flavours, Aussie brunch classics and occasional Asian fusion specials. We’re also planning to gradually expand into a bistro-style offering with simple tapas as the business evolves.
We’re looking for someone with proven experience in a skilled kitchen who can work independently, maintain consistent food quality and contribute to the ongoing development of our menu.
Location: Fitzroy, VIC
Employment: Part-time, with potential to move to full-time
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a cook or chef in a café, restaurant or similar professional kitchen. This is essential.
- Confident handling breakfast and brunch service in a busy environment.
- Able to work independently and as part of a small team.
- Good preparation,
organisation and time-management skills.
- Creative approach to food, with an understanding of portioning and food cost control.
- Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
- Reliable, punctual and comfortable with early starts.
