This is a full-time, in office Consultant Anaesthetist role based in Toowoomba, QLD.
The Consultant
Anaesthetist will be responsible for assessing patients pre-operatively, planning appropriate anaesthetic care, and delivering safe anaesthesia for a range of surgical and diagnostic procedures. Day-to-day tasks include participating in theatre lists, providing preoperative and postoperative care, managing pain relief, and responding to acute anaesthetic and resuscitation needs. The role involves close collaboration with surgeons, nursing teams, and other clinicians, contributing to multidisciplinary decision-making, clinical governance activities, and quality improvement initiatives.
The Consultant
Anaesthetist will also support junior medical staff through supervision, teaching, and mentoring, while maintaining accurate clinical documentation and adhering to relevant clinical guidelines and regulatory standards.
Qualifications:
- Specialist qualification in Anaesthesia (e.g., FRCA or equivalent), with current registration or eligibility for registration with the appropriate medical board in Australia.
- Eligibility: UK CCT in Anaesthesia or Irish CSCST
