Defence Systems Engineers

About the opportunity

We are looking to connect with experienced Systems Engineers interested in current and upcoming opportunities supporting complex Defence and national security programs.

Opportunities may span the capability lifecycle, from requirements definition and system design through to integration, verification and validation, transition and sustainment.

We are particularly interested in Systems Engineers who have worked within Defence, CASG or Defence industry environments and are comfortable operating across multidisciplinary engineering teams and complex technical programs.

What you may be working on

Depending on the project, responsibilities may include:

- Systems engineering across complex Defence capabilities and projects
- Requirements elicitation, analysis, development and management
- System architecture, design and technical documentation
- Systems integration and interface management
- Verification, validation, test and evaluation activities
- Engineering change and configuration management
- Technical risk, issues and dependency management
- Capability transition, introduction into service and sustainment
- Communications, ICT, SATCOM, networked or other complex technical systems
- Engineering governance, technical reviews and assurance
- Engagement with Defence stakeholders, engineering teams, vendors and industry partners

What we're looking for Ideally, you will bring experience across some of the following areas:





- Systems Engineering within Defence or another complex, regulated workplace
- Systems engineering lifecycle activities
- Requirements engineering and management
- Systems architecture and design
- Integration, verification and validation
- Systems-of-systems engineering
- Technical documentation and engineering artefacts
- Configuration and engineering change management
- Communications, networks, SATCOM, RF or ICT systems
- Defence acquisition and/or sustainment environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement and technical communication skills
- Ability to operate effectively across engineering and project delivery teams

You do not need experience across every area listed above. We are interested in speaking with Systems Engineers from a range of technical backgrounds and specialisations.

Security clearance

Many of the opportunities we support are within the Australian Defence environment and may require an Australian Government security clearance .

Candidates who currently hold an NV1 or higher clearance are encouraged to apply.
