Dental Assistant — Part Time (Tue & Fri + one more day)

We’re not looking for someone to train from scratch. We’re looking for an experienced dental assistant who can walk into a busy surgery, read the room, and keep a clinician moving from day one.

About the role
We’re being upfront about why this role exists. We have more clinicians joining us and we need the help!
So this is a genuine, ongoing part time role: Tuesday and Friday are fixed, plus one more day — Wednesday or Saturday, depending on what suits you and the practice roster. If you want consistent part-time work that fits around the rest of your life, that’s exactly what this is.
About the practice
Allied Dental Southern River is a local, clinician-led practice. We’re part of Allied Dental which is a network of practices across Perth with a dedicated head office in South Perth covering HR, marketing, finance and operations. In practice that means the people in the surgery aren’t buried in paperwork, and there’s a real structure behind you: internal CPD, defined competency and pay progression, and the option to pick up work across the network if you ever want more days.
We use Praktika as our practice management software.
What you’ll actually do
1. Chairside assisting across general and restorative treatment (four-handed), anticipating rather than reacting
2.
Surgery set-up, turnover and infection control to a consistent standard, every time
3. Sterilisation and stock management
4. Making patients feel looked after from the moment they sit down particularly the nervous ones
5. Supporting the front desk when it’s busy and the day needs it
6. Working closely with our Practice Manager and Principal to keep the day running on time
Who we’re looking for
1. At least 1 year of hands-on dental assisting experience — this is the one non-negotiable
2. Someone who sees what’s needed next and does it, without being asked twice
3. Calm when the schedule slips, and genuinely good with anxious patients
4. Reliable as these days are fixed, and the team plans around them
5. Radiography licence and Praktika experience are a bonus, not a requirement

Our process
We interview, and then we run a paid one-day trial in the practice before anyone is offered the role. It’s the fairest way we’ve found to do this — you get to see how we work and who you’d be working with, and we get to see you in the surgery rather than across a table.
