Build a career with Milmac

If you’re curious about how things work, enjoy solving practical problems and want to build a real trade career, Milmac could be the place for you.

As a first-year apprentice, you’ll learn to service, diagnose and repair trucks and agricultural machinery alongside experienced technicians who have spent decades in the industry. You’ll get hands-on experience across a wide range of equipment and systems, with support from our team as you work towards your trade qualification through a reputable training provider.

We’re looking for someone who wants to learn and grow—not just fill a position. You don’t need to know everything on day one. What matters is your mechanical aptitude, your attitude, and your willingness to listen, ask questions and give things a go.

Why Milmac?

Milmac is part of the Milne Bros Group, which has proudly supported Central Queensland for more than 63 years. We understand the demands of the truck and agricultural industries, and we take pride in building strong relationships with both our people and our clients.

Our team brings a broad mix of knowledge and experience to the workshop. That means you’ll have plenty to learn, people to learn from, and the chance to build skills across different types of machinery and repairs. We also value work-life balance and understand that a successful apprenticeship needs support both at work and with your training.

What you’ll learn and do

- Assist with scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance

- Learn to diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults

- Help with repairs to engines,

driveline and hydraulic components

- Inspect trucks and agricultural equipment and learn safe workshop practices

- Use workshop tools and diagnostic equipment under supervision

- Complete service records and work orders accurately

- Attend and complete your apprenticeship training

- Build practical skills, confidence and good work habits as you progress

About you

You’ll bring a genuine interest in mechanical work and the motivation to develop a long-term career. You’re someone who:

- Is reliable, punctual and safety-conscious

- Local to Rockhampton community

- Enjoys working with tools, machinery or practical projects

- Listens carefully, follows instructions and asks questions when unsure

- Communicates well and works positively with others

- Is keen to learn from feedback and put new skills into practice

- Understands that an apprenticeship takes commitment at work and in study
- A driver licence is preferred and highly regarded. A forklift licence is also an advantage

Join a team that wants to see you succeed

At Milmac, you’ll be supported to learn, encouraged to take on new challenges and given the chance to develop a broad range of trade skills. If you’re ready to put in the effort and build a rewarding career, we’d like to hear from you.

Milmac is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from people with different backgrounds and experiences who are keen to learn and contribute to our team.

Applications will be open for a month. We expect to begin interviews after the advertisement closes.
