About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team at our Turrella NSW workshop on a fulltime basis. As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be the backbone of our service operations, responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel engines and associated vehicle systems. This is a hands-on role that requires technical expertise, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to delivering exceptional workmanship.

You will work with modern diagnostic tools and equipment whilst managing your own workload in a professional workshop environment.

What you'll be doing

- Diagnose diesel engine faults and mechanical issues using advanced diagnostic equipment and technical knowledge
- Perform routine maintenance services including oil changes, filter replacements, safety and HVIS Prep inspections.
- Repair diesel engines, high pressure diesel fuel injection systems and related components
- Conduct comprehensive vehicle inspections to identify potential problems before they become major issues
- Replace worn or damaged parts with quality components, ensuring proper installation and testing
- Maintain accurate service records and documentation for all work completed
- Liaise with customers to explain repair requirements, costs, and timelines in a clear and professional manner
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations and workshop protocols




- Keep abreast of new diesel engine technologies and repair techniques

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification or recognised apprenticeship in automotive mechanics or diesel engine mechanics
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience working on buses and coaches in a professional workshop environment
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
- Competency with diesel engine systems, fuel injection, turbocharging, and engine management systems
- Proficiency with mechanical tools and modern diagnostic equipment
- Knowledge of relevant health and safety standards and workplace regulations
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with team members
- Valid driver's licence
- Physical fitness and ability to work in a hands-on environment, including lifting heavy components
