Make a meaningful difference. Lead with purpose. Put people first.
At Nextt, we’re passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred support that empowers people with disability to live their best lives.
We’re looking for an organised, proactive and hands-on Disability Support Work Team Leader who can balance responsive participant support with strong administration, team leadership and smooth day-to-day site operations.
This is a varied role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, takes initiative and enjoys being the go-to person when things need attention. Working closely with the Client Experience Manager, you’ll help support participants, guide Support Workers, maintain effective systems and processes, and ensure our services consistently deliver positive outcomes.
About the role - no two days will look the same. You’ll provide responsive, ad hoc and unplanned support to participants on-site, stepping in where needed to maintain continuity of care, wellbeing and daily routines. Alongside hands-on support, you’ll play an important role in coordinating the team, maintaining administrative processes and ensuring accountability across site operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing hands-on participant support as required, including manual handling, meal preparation, medication assistance and small domestic tasks.
- Responding promptly to changing participant needs, prioritising safety, wellbeing and individual preferences.
- Promoting person-centred practice, active support and supported decision-making, ensuring participants have choice, control and a voice in their supports.
- Providing day-to-day leadership, guidance and coaching to Support Workers to encourage high-quality support and positive participant outcomes.
- Supporting the Client Experience Manager with daily site operations, team coordination and accountability.
- Managing administrative responsibilities, including accurate documentation, record keeping,
reporting and maintaining essential site information.
- Following established systems, policies and procedures while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and service quality.
- Assisting with the management and escalation of incidents, complaints and day-to-day issues in line with organisational procedures.
- Building positive, trusting relationships with participants, families, Support Workers and key stakeholders.
- Upholding the NDIS Code of Conduct, relevant NDIS Practice Standards and Nextt’s commitment to safe, respectful and inclusive support.
What you’ll bring: We’re looking for someone who combines robust administrative capability with confident leadership and a genuine passion for supporting people with disability.
You’ll bring
- Administration experience: A solid administration background, with excellent organisational skills, attention to detail and confidence managing records, documentation and competing priorities.
- Leadership capability: The ability to guide, motivate and support others while encouraging accountability and high standards.
- Disability sector knowledge: An understanding of person-centred support, active support, the NDIS and the importance of promoting inclusion, independence and meaningful outcomes.
- Strong communication skills: Clear and professional written and verbal communication, with the ability to build positive relationships across a diverse range of people.
- Initiative and problem-solving: A proactive approach,
sound judgement and the ability to respond calmly and efficiently when priorities change.
- Process improvement: A systems-focused mindset, with the confidence to identify improvements and help implement effective processes and procedures.
- Accountability: A commitment to following through on responsibilities, maintaining accurate information and addressing issues appropriately.
- Adaptability: The ability to balance hands-on participant support, administration and team leadership in a busy, reactive environment.
- A client-first approach: A genuine commitment to protecting participant rights, listening to individual needs and ensuring the best interests of participants remain at the forefront of decisions.
Your roster: This is a Permanent Part-Time (PPT) opportunity with a regular Monday–Friday roster:
- Monday: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
- Tuesday: 7:00 am – 2:00 pm
- Wednesday: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm
