Flourishing Lives Disability Services (FLDS)

Empower. Support. Flourish.

- Locations: Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Maitland & Central Coast
- Employment Type: Casual | Opportunities for Permanent Part-Time
- Shifts: Monday–Sunday | Daytime, Afternoon, Evening & Weekend Shifts

1. About Us – Where Everyone Has the Opportunity to Flourish! At Flourishing Lives Disability Services (FLDS), we believe exceptional disability support begins with an exceptional workplace culture. When our people feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed, the people we support benefit too!

We're a growing, boutique disability support provider with a big heart and an even bigger commitment to doing things differently. Built on honesty, integrity, compassion, and genuine human connection, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality, person-centred support while creating a workplace where our team genuinely enjoys coming to work.

We provide a range of NDIS services, including Supported Independent Living (SIL), Individualised Living Options (ILO), Community Access, In-Home Supports, and Travel and Transport Assistance.

But we're about more than just delivering services. We're about building meaningful relationships, celebrating individuality, empowering independence, and helping people flourish — participants and employees alike.

As our organisation continues to grow, we're looking for passionate, reliable, and compassionate Disability Support Workers who share our values and want to be part of something special.

2. About the Role – Make a Difference, Your Way!

As a Casual Disability Support Worker, you'll play an important role in supporting participants to live fulfilling, independent, and meaningful lives.

Our current opportunities are primarily within Community Access, supporting participants to get out and about, pursue their interests, develop confidence, build relationships, and participate in activities that matter to them.

Depending on participant needs and your experience, opportunities may also be available across our other services.

3. Your responsibilities may include:

- Community Access: Supporting participants to engage in social activities, attend appointments, explore hobbies, build independence, and connect with their communities.
- In-Home Support: Assisting with daily living activities, domestic tasks, meal preparation, personal care, and developing independent living skills.
- Supported Living (SIL & ILO): Providing individualised assistance with daily routines, personal care, medication support within your training and authorisation, and everyday living.
- Travel & Transport: Safely transporting participants to appointments, community activities, and other destinations using your own reliable vehicle.
- Empowerment & Advocacy: Promoting participant choice, control, dignity, and independence while respecting individual preferences, goals, and abilities.

We believe excellent support starts with genuine connection. That's why we carefully consider personalities, interests, experience, and participant preferences when matching support workers with the people they support. Whether you love getting outdoors, exploring local cafés, gaming, cooking, arts and crafts, or simply having a great conversation, your interests and individuality could make a meaningful difference in someone's life.

4. Hours & Employment Opportunities

We understand that flexibility matters, but so does consistency — especially for the people we support.

We have casual shifts available Monday through Sunday, with opportunities across:

- Daytime, afternoon, and evening supports.
- Weekday and weekend shifts, including rotating weekends.
- Community Access shifts of varying durations.
- Additional support opportunities across other service settings,

subject to participant needs and suitability.

Weekend and applicable shift penalty rates are paid in accordance with the relevant industrial award. We're particularly interested in applicants who can offer consistent, ongoing availability, allowing us to build strong, reliable support teams around our participants.

Looking for Something More Permanent?

Although this position is initially casual, we actively identify opportunities to transition suitable employees into permanent part-time positions at the 3-month and 6-month employment milestones.

These opportunities are considered based on employee performance, participant compatibility, ongoing availability, and the consistency of available supports.

We believe that providing employment stability for our workers helps create the long-term relationships and continuity of care our participants deserve.

5. About You – It's Who You Are That Matters!

Qualifications and experience are valuable, but at FLDS, we believe a person's character, attitude, and values are just as important.

We're looking for people who genuinely care about others, take pride in their work, and understand that quality support is about much more than completing a checklist.

You'll fit right in if you:

- Lead with empathy, compassion, honesty, and integrity.
- Respect participant choice, control, dignity of risk, and duty of care.
- Are dependable, punctual, and committed to providing consistent support.
- Communicate openly, professionally, and respectfully.
- Enjoy building meaningful relationships and celebrating the achievements of others.
- Bring positivity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Understand the importance of professional boundaries, confidentiality, and safe work practices.
- Appreciate a workplace where teamwork, collaboration, and the occasional laugh go hand in hand!

Most importantly, you're someone who wants to make a genuine difference in people's lives while being part of a team that values you as an individual. 6. Essential Requirements

- Previous experience supporting people with disability, including autism, intellectual disability, or psychosocial disability.
- Experience in Community Access, SIL, ILO, or in-home supports.
