We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Dispensary Technician to join our team at Priceline Pharmacy Amaroo in ACT. This is a Part-Time position where you will play a vital role in ensuring that patients receive safe and accurate pharmaceutical care. As a Dispensary Technician, you will be responsible for preparing and dispensing medications under the supervision of our qualified pharmacist, whilst maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, safety and customer service.
Your contribution will be essential to the day-to-day operations of our pharmacy and to our commitment to providing excellent healthcare services to our community.
Key responsibilities
- Accurately receive, check and process medication prescriptions to ensure compliance with pharmaceutical standards and regulations
- Prepare and dispense medications in appropriate quantities, ensuring correct labelling and packaging
- Maintain detailed records of all dispensed medications and inventory management systems
- Assist the pharmacist in conducting medication reviews and providing information to patients regarding their medications
- Manage stock rotation, ordering and organisation of pharmaceutical products within the dispensary
- Operate dispensary equipment and computer systems efficiently and safely
- Provide professional and courteous customer service to patients, addressing their queries and concerns
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dispensary workspace in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Support the pharmacist during busy periods and contribute to the overall efficiency of the pharmacy
- Stay current with pharmacy procedures, regulations and best practices within the healthcare sector
What we're looking for
- A recognised Pharmacy Technician qualification or equivalent accreditation recognised in Australia
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in pharmaceutical preparation and dispensing
- Proficiency with pharmacy management systems and computer technology
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining high standards of accuracy
- Robust communication skills and a customer-focused approach
- Knowledge of pharmacy law, regulations and professional standards within Australia
- Physical ability to perform tasks such as standing for extended periods, lifting and bending
- Previous experience working in a retail or community pharmacy setting is highly desirable
