You've started your career. Now, where could it take you?
Early Career Speech Pathologist | Grow With Us Northern Beaches & Inner West | Sydney
Forestville • Frenchs Forest • Ashfield Maybe you've been working as a speech pathologist for a little while now. You've discovered what you love about the profession, learned a few things the hard way, and started thinking about the kind of clinician you want to become.
Perhaps you're looking for more opportunities to develop your clinical skills, colleagues you can really learn from, or a workplace where your ideas and contributions matter.
Or perhaps you're an exceptional new graduate, ready to find the right place to begin.
Wherever you're at, we'd love to hear what you're looking for.
At Talkshop Speech Pathology, we're an independent practice with three Sydney clinics, a wonderful mix of clinicians and a shared commitment to delivering thoughtful, high-quality speech pathology. We're looking for curious, capable and kind people who enjoy working with children and families, want to keep learning, and are excited about what they could become.
Your development isn't an afterthought. It's part of how we work.
We believe becoming an excellent clinician takes more than experience alone. It takes opportunities to think, question, practise, reflect and learn alongside people who genuinely care about your development. Here's what that looks like at Talkshop:
- Supervision that develops your thinking. Experienced clinicians who help you strengthen your clinical reasoning, build confidence and develop independence — not just tell you what to do.
- Weekly Wednesday Workshops. Dedicated time to explore clinical topics, share knowledge, develop practical skills and learn together.
- Colleagues you can learn with. A collaborative team where questions, ideas and different perspectives are welcome.
- Strong systems and administrative support. Established processes, technology, clinical resources and a dedicated support team to help you focus on the work you trained to do.
- Room to explore your interests. Opportunities to deepen your clinical skills,
contribute to projects and become involved in recent initiatives as you develop.
- A genuine voice in your workplace. We value initiative, thoughtful ideas and people who want to contribute to how we work and grow.
You'll have support when you need it, opportunities to stretch yourself, and increasing autonomy as your skills and confidence develop.
Great clinical work. Real relationships. Meaningful impact.
Our work is predominantly paediatric, supporting children and families across speech, language, fluency, literacy and social communication. We care about thoughtful assessment, sound clinical reasoning, evidence-based practice and therapy that makes a meaningful difference in people's everyday lives.
We're also exploring new ways to make speech pathology more accessible, including working with schools, early learning centres, parents and educators. If you're interested in thinking beyond traditional one-to-one therapy, there will be opportunities to get involved as your career develops.
A team to be part of. Space to be yourself.
We know a great workplace isn't just about what you do. It's also about the people you work with and how you're treated. At Talkshop, we value kindness, curiosity, initiative, generosity and accountability. We want people to feel comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas, seeking support and being themselves.
We don't expect everyone to think alike or have the same ambitions. We want to understand what matters to you, what brings out your best work and how we can support your professional growth.
We also recognise that life exists outside the clinic. We're open to discussing working arrangements that balance individual needs with continuity of care for our clients and families.
You'll be based primarily at Forestville, Frenchs Forest or Ashfield, with the support and connections of our wider Talkshop team.
Could this be your next step?
We're particularly interested in speech pathologists with around 6 months to 3 years of clinical experience who are ready for their next stage of professional growth. Exceptional new graduates are also very welcome to get in touch. If you're curious, motivated, reflective and excited about becoming a great clinician, we'd love to hear from you.
Salary: $90,000–$100,000 + super, based on experience and capability. New graduate salaries start at $85,000 + super.
You'll bring
- A recognised qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for Speech Pathology Australia membership.
- A genuine interest in working with children and families.
- Developing clinical reasoning skills and a commitment to evidence-based practice.
- Curiosity, initiative and openness to learning and feedback.
- Strong communication skills, accountability and a collaborative approach.
You don't need to have everything figured out. But we'd love you to be excited about discovering what's possible.
