Profectus is seeking an experienced Senior Exchange Specialist Infrastructure Engineer to support messaging services within an Australian Government agency. You will administer and support a hybrid Exchange on-premises and Exchange Online messaging workplace. The work covers mail flow and service monitoring, email security and compliance controls, migration and modernisation activities and messaging service documentation.

Key Responsibilities

- Administer and support the Exchange on-premises and Exchange Online messaging environment
- Configure, maintain and enhance Exchange services and associated messaging systems
- Monitor service performance, availability and mail flow, and resolve identified issues
- Implement and maintain email security, compliance and governance controls
- Manage mailboxes, distribution groups, address lists and other messaging service components
- Support email migration, platform modernisation and service enhancement activities
- Investigate and resolve technical issues and provide solution options to stakeholders and project teams
- Support incident, problem and change management activities for messaging services
- Produce solution designs, implementation plans, and configuration, testing and validation documentation
- Develop operational procedures, support guides and knowledge base content for Exchange messaging services
- Prepare status reports, risk assessments and technical recommendations
- Transfer skills and knowledge to agency staff and prepare handover documentation

Required Experience
- Administering and supporting enterprise Microsoft Exchange messaging environments




- Designing large or complex systems, including impact analysis of design options and trade-offs
- Leading infrastructure installation, migration or decommissioning projects
- Monitoring service capacity and performance, contributing to capacity planning and resolving shortfalls
- Implementing infrastructure changes and maintenance routines, using management tools to report on load and performance
- Investigating and resolving problems in systems and services, including identifying trends and preventative measures
- Developing and testing scripts to automate the provisioning, testing and deployment of infrastructure
- Producing technical documentation, operational procedures and knowledge transfer materials

Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of Exchange 2019, Exchange Server SE and Microsoft 365 infrastructure
- Experience working in a Microsoft hybrid messaging environment
- PowerShell and automated scripting
- Familiarity with Arctera (Veritas) Enterprise Vault or similar on-premises archiving solutions

Security Clearance Requirements
- Must be an Australian Citizen
- Must have the ability to obtain AGSVA NV2 Security Clearance
- Current AGSVA Security Clearance mandatory
