Experienced Bookkeeper – Full Time

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, hands-on Bookkeeper to manage the day-to-day accounts for Oldfields Scaffolding's Adelaide and Perth branches, based at our Regency Park office.

You will work closely with the Director, branch managers and external accountants as a crucial part of our small office team, helping us improve processes and grow the business.

Key responsibilities

- Managing daily bookkeeping and maintaining accurate records in Xero

- Processing supplier invoices, approvals and payment runs

- Managing accounts receivable, allocating payments and following up overdue accounts

- Reconciling bank accounts, credit cards and supplier statements

- Processing payroll through Employment Hero

- Reconciling transactions between ScaffM8 and Xero

- Preparing BAS reconciliations for external accountant review and lodgement

- Preparing and maintaining cash flow forecasts and annual budgets

- Preparing monthly financial reports, including budget-versus-actual performance

- Supporting month-end and year-end accounts

- Identifying dormant clients and opportunities to re-engage them with the business

- Embracing AI and new technologies to improve efficiency and streamline processes

- Proactively identifying opportunities to improve systems, customer service and business performance

About you





- Proven experience independently managing day-to-day bookkeeping

- Strong practical knowledge of Xero

- Experience with payroll, GST, BAS and account reconciliations

- Ability to prepare budgets, cash flow forecasts and financial reports

- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and time management

- Confidence following up outstanding payments, resolving account discrepancies and managing customer queries
- A proactive, practical attitude and willingness to contribute ideas
- An interest in AI, technology and finding smarter ways to work

- Experience with Employment Hero, multi-branch businesses or construction would be an advantage
