KBF Property Maintenance Qld is a long-established, family-owned business providing commercial mowing, brush cutting, roadside maintenance and general property maintenance services.
We have been operating since 1997 and take pride in our longstanding Council relationships, quality workmanship and commitment to workplace safety.
We are seeking an experienced, reliable and self-motivated commercial mower operator to join our small team.
About the Role
This is not a standard residential lawn mowing position.
Our mowing work predominantly involves pony trails, access tracks, and other locations where operators must carefully assess terrain and conditions before commencing work.
Duties include
- Operating commercial ride-on and zero-turn mowers.
- Heavy-duty brush cutting, including overgrown and uneven areas.
- Assessing access tracks, ground conditions, slopes and potential hazards before operating machinery.
- Conducting daily machinery pre-start checks and reporting defects.
- General grounds maintenance, litter collection and other labouring duties as required.
- Working independently and as part of a small team.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must have:
- Proven hands-on experience operating commercial ride-on or zero-turn mowing equipment.
- Previous experience using commercial brush cutters.
- The ability to recognise hazards and make secure decisions when working on uneven or challenging terrain.
- A current Manual driver's licence.
- The ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A strong work ethic, reliability and punctuality.
- A willingness to undertake varied maintenance duties.
- The ability to consistently attend agreed shifts, including early morning starts.
Please note:
Experience operating domestic push mowers alone will not meet the requirements of this position.
What We Value
We are a small business where every team member plays an important role.
We particularly value people who:
- Turn up on time and honour their work commitments.
- Communicate promptly and professionally.
- Take pride in their work and look after equipment.
- Follow safety procedures and recognise when conditions are unsafe.
- Show initiative and can be trusted to complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Are flexible and willing to assist with different tasks when required.
Our Recruitment Process Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an initial 10–15-minute phone interview, followed by a face-to-face interview and practical machinery competency assessment where appropriate.
We ask that applicants only apply if they have the relevant commercial mowing and brushcutting experience and are genuinely interested in the position.
We respect applicants' time and ask that interview appointments be treated with the same consideration. If circumstances change, we expect applicants to communicate with us promptly.
How to Apply
Please submit your resume outlining your relevant commercial mowing and brushcutting experience.
In your application, briefly tell us:
- What commercial ride-on or zero-turn mowers have you operated?
- What experience do you have with heavy-duty brushcutting and working on uneven or overgrown terrain?
- Why are you interested in joining KBF Property Maintenance Qld?
Only applicants who demonstrate the essential experience requirements will be considered for an interview. We look forward to hearing from experienced operators who take pride in their work and value being part of a dependable team.
