Midcoast Trucks is seeking a Finance & Human Resources Assistant to join our team in Macksville, NSW. This is a full-time position that offers a unique opportunity to support both our financial operations and human resources functions. In this role, you will be integral to ensuring smooth administrative processes across these critical business areas, working closely with our Finance and HR teams to provide essential support that keeps our organisation running efficiently.
What you'll be doing
- Processing invoices, expense reports and financial documentation in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintaining financial records and ensuring proper filing and organisation of all documentation
- Assisting with payroll administration, including data entry and verification of employee information
- Scheduling and coordinating HR appointments, interviews and meetings
- Supporting recruitment activities such as posting vacancies, screening applications and maintaining candidate records
- Preparing HR correspondence and documentation including offer letters, contracts and policy acknowledgements
- Responding to routine employee queries regarding HR policies and procedures
- Maintaining employee records in compliance with legal requirements and company protocols
- Assisting with general administrative tasks including data entry, database management and report preparation
- Supporting the Finance and HR teams with ad hoc projects and special initiatives as required
What we're looking for
- Completed secondary education or equivalent qualification (HSC or similar)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
- Robust organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Accuracy and attention to detail, particularly when handling financial and employee information
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive financial and personnel information
- Reliable and professional demeanour with a commitment to quality workmanship
- Previous experience in administration, finance support or human resources (preferred)
- Familiarity with accounting or HR software systems (advantageous but not essential)
