Silk Laundry is seeking a commercially minded and hands-on Finance Manager to take ownership of our day-to-day finance function and provide the insight, structure and financial discipline required to support our continued growth.

Founded in Australia in 2015, Silk Laundry has grown from its iconic 90s Slip Dress into an internationally recognised fashion brand, with a strong ecommerce presence and boutiques across Australia and internationally.

This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional who enjoys working across both the detail and the broader commercial picture. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and teams across the business, providing meaningful financial insights, strengthening systems and controls, and identifying opportunities to improve performance.

We’re looking for someone who is comfortable moving between transactional finance, management reporting, inventory and margin analysis, budgeting and forecasting, and business improvement.

The Role

You will take ownership of the finance function and ensure the business has accurate, timely and commercially meaningful financial information to support decision making.

Key responsibilities will include

- Oversee day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, payroll, inventory and working capital.

- Prepare monthly management accounts, financial reporting and performance analysis.

- Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning.

- Analyse sales, gross margin, inventory, stock turn and profitability across retail and ecommerce channels.

- Provide commercial insights and recommendations to senior leadership.





- Maintain strong financial controls and continually improve the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes.

- Coordinate year-end financial reporting and work with external accountants, auditors and advisors as required.

- Ensure tax, statutory and regulatory obligations are completed accurately and on time.

- Develop meaningful dashboards, KPIs and reporting to provide greater visibility of business performance.

- Partner with retail, ecommerce, operations and other teams to improve financial understanding and commercial outcomes.

- Identify opportunities to streamline and automate finance processes through better systems, technology and AI-enabled solutions.

- Support system integrations and improvements across finance, ecommerce, inventory and operational platforms.

- Contribute to broader business planning and growth initiatives.

About You

You are commercially curious, proactive and comfortable working in a fast-moving workplace.

You enjoy being hands-on and taking ownership, but you can also step back from the numbers and explain what they mean for the business.

Ideally, you will bring:

- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

- CA or CPA qualification, or be working towards completion.

- Solid experience across management accounting and day-to-day finance operations.

- Strong commercial and analytical capability.





- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills.

- Experience working with inventory-based, retail, ecommerce or consumer businesses will be highly regarded.

- Experience with accounting, ERP, inventory management and ecommerce platforms.

- Strong understanding of financial controls, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management.

- An interest in technology, automation and improving the way finance functions operate.

- The ability to translate financial information into clear commercial insights.

- Confidence communicating with both financial and non-financial stakeholders.

- A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to get involved across all levels of the finance function.

- The energy and initiative to identify opportunities rather than simply maintain existing processes.
