About the role

Probedrill Pty Ltd is seeking an experienced Fitter and Turner to join our team in Cockburn Central, WA. This is a full-time position that offers the opportunity to work with precision engineering and machining in a dynamic industrial setting. As a Fitter and Turner, you will be responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing complex mechanical equipment whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and safety.

This role is integral to our operations, directly supporting our ability to deliver reliable products and services to our clients.

What you'll be doing

- Operating and maintaining lathe machines, milling machines, and other precision machining equipment to exact specifications
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to fabricate and assemble mechanical components
- Measuring, testing, and inspecting finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances
- Performing routine servicing and minor maintainance on our CPT trucks and skid steers, including replacing brake shoes/drums, injector pumps, turbos, hydraulic hoses etc.
- Servicing/repairing sampling and the testing equipment
- Minor auto electrical reapairs
- Regassing and repairing the Rigs A/C units - if possible we can provide training for refigerant license
- Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations
- Collaborating with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on schedule
- Identifying opportunities for process improvements and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives

What we're looking for

- Trade qualification in Fitting and Turning, Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent demonstrated experience
- Experience in Heavy diesel machinery servicing and repairs




- Be able to use non CNC machines and possibly CNC machines in the future
- Strong proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and engineering specifications
- Demonstrated ability to work to tight tolerances and maintain high quality standards
- Sound knowledge of health and safety practices relevant to machine shop operations
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues independently
- Willingness to learn new skills
- Strong manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team whilst managing multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate, quality work

- Valid driving licence
