About Lola Varma

Lola Varma is an Australian bridal label creating modern, understated bridalwear defined by luxurious fabrics, considered silhouettes and timeless elegance. Founded by fashion and wedding photographer Courtney Illfield, our designs are worn by brides around the world. From our light-filled Fitzroy atelier, we bring our studio, showroom and production team together under one roof.

We’re looking for an experienced Garment Cutter to join our team and contribute to the exceptional craftsmanship behind every Lola Varma garment.

About the Role

Working closely with our pattern maker and machinists, you’ll be responsible for accurately cutting fabrics and preparing garments for production, working primarily with beautiful silks and ensuring every piece meets our high standards. We’re looking for someone with strong technical skills, an excellent eye for detail and a genuine appreciation for quality craftsmanship.

What You’ll Be Doing

- Accurately cutting patterns and fabrics for our bridal collections
- Handling delicate fabrics, particularly silk, with care and precision
- Inspecting fabrics before cutting
- Interpreting patterns and ensuring correct fabric placement and grainlines
- Maximising fabric use while minimising waste
- Checking and organising cut pieces ready for our machinists
- Working closely with our production team to maintain a smooth workflow

About You

You’re experienced, meticulous and take pride in producing work to a high standard.



You enjoy working with quality fabrics and understand the precision required to create beautifully made garments. Ideally, you’ll have:
- Proven experience in garment cutting and pattern interpretation
- Confidence working with delicate fabrics, particularly silk
- A strong understanding of fabric behaviour, grainlines and cutting techniques
- Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
- The ability to work independently, manage deadlines and collaborate with a team

Experience in bridalwear, eveningwear or luxury fashion production would be highly regarded.
