Contract Position | $300 per Hour | Flexible Scheduling & Travel Opportunities
We are seeking a General Practitioner to provide face-to-face consultations for a veteran cohort of patients in Melbourne.
This is an excellent opportunity for a GP looking for a flexible, well-organised contracting role with an attractive hourly rate, administrative support and no ongoing patient caseload to manage.
The Role
- Initial commitment: 1–2 days per week in Melbourne to work through the existing patient demand.
- Ongoing commitment: Approximately 1–2 days per month in Melbourne to accommodate new and ongoing patient demand.
- Flexible additional work: Opportunities for occasional interstate travel to locations such as Townsville and Darwin, generally for approximately two days at a time every few months, depending on demand.
- Clinical responsibilities: Initial patient check-ins, basic onboarding and documentation, and completion of clinical notes.
The purpose of these appointments is to complete a straightforward face-to-face check-in, allowing patients to access ongoing treatment and management through the broader telehealth medical team.
The role is focused on initial engagement, onboarding and basic clinical assessments. There is no expectation to build or maintain an ongoing patient caseload, manage ongoing treatment or take responsibility for ongoing patient follow-up.
Remuneration & Contracting
- $300 per hour.
- Independent contractor arrangement.
- Paid hourly, not per consultation.
- Guaranteed payment for scheduled working hours, regardless of patient cancellations or non-attendance.
- Medicare billing managed on your behalf.
- Approved travel expenses covered when interstate travel is required.
You can focus on your clinical consultations without needing to manage billing, chase payments or carry the financial risk of patient no-shows. Administrative and operational support is provided, allowing you to complete your scheduled sessions and finish without an ongoing caseload to take home.
About You
- General Registration with AHPRA.
- No restrictions on registration or prescribing. Must hold full, general registration with AHPRA as a General Practitioner, with no conditions, undertakings or restrictions on registration or prescribing.
- Ability to work independently and confidently within a structured clinical environment.
- Strong communication and patient engagement skills.
- Based in Melbourne and willing to undertake occasional interstate travel as required.
- Comfortable working within a structured 15-minute consultation model.
