About the Role

Nova Hotel Kiama is seeking a reliable, hands-on and detail-oriented Housekeeping Supervisor to oversee housekeeping standards at our 32-room hotel.

This is a practical, working role that combines room inspections and supervision with hands-on cleaning, in-house laundry duties and general property maintenance.

You will lead by example, ensuring guest rooms are cleaned and presented to a high standard while also assisting the housekeeping team with daily tasks. You will take responsibility for checking completed rooms, managing linen and laundry, and ensuring the overall property remains clean, tidy and well-maintained.

We are looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a keen eye for detail and is happy to get involved wherever needed to ensure the hotel runs smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

Housekeeping and Room Inspections

- Inspect completed guest rooms to ensure they meet hotel cleanliness and presentation standards.
- Check beds, linen, bathrooms, amenities and overall room presentation before guest arrival.
- Identify cleaning issues and ensure they are rectified promptly.
- Work alongside the housekeeping team, actively assisting with cleaning and servicing guest rooms when required.
- Coordinate daily room cleaning schedules and ensure rooms are ready before check-in.
- Maintain high standards across corridors, public areas and shared spaces.

In-House Laundry and Linen

- Manage daily in-house laundry operations,



including washing, drying, folding and sorting linen and towels.
- Ensure clean linen is available to meet daily housekeeping requirements.
- Maintain organised linen storage areas and monitor linen stock levels.
- Identify damaged, stained or worn linen and report replacement requirements.
- Keep laundry equipment and the laundry area clean, tidy and organised.

General Maintenance and Property Upkeep

- Undertake general cleaning and upkeep throughout the property, including windows, glass doors, mirrors and entryways.
- Maintain the presentation of external areas, entrances and shared spaces.
- Identify and report maintenance issues, damage and potential safety hazards.
- Complete basic maintenance tasks where appropriate and within your skills and authorisation.
- Keep housekeeping cupboards, storage areas and equipment clean and organised.
- Coordinate with management or contractors when more complex maintenance work is required.
- Assist with periodic deep cleaning and preventative property upkeep.

Teamwork and Daily Operations

- Support and guide housekeeping staff to maintain consistent standards and productivity.
- Communicate room status updates and maintenance issues to reception and management.
- Ensure rooms are inspected and ready for guest check-in deadlines.




- Follow workplace health and safety procedures and safe chemical-handling practices.

About You
- Previous hotel housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience is essential.
- Experience inspecting rooms or supervising housekeeping staff is highly regarded.
- Practical experience with laundry operations and linen management.
- A strong eye for detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Comfortable balancing room inspections with hands-on cleaning and laundry duties.
- Practical approach to general maintenance and property upkeep.
- Reliable, organised, punctual and able to work independently.
- Physically fit and comfortable with a hands-on role.
- Available to work weekends and public holidays as required between the hours of 8AM to 3PM
- Australian work rights required.
