At Absolute Immigration Group, it’s People. Not paper.
The business is growing, and we want our technology to grow with it. We’re hiring our first Head of Technology to lead that work.
Why join the Absolute Immigration Group (AIG)?
We believe great work happens when people feel valued, supported, and inspired. Some of the things our team love about working with us include:
- A newly created role with real ownership. You set how technology works here.
- A direct line to the CEO and a leadership team that has already committed to the plan.
- Work that you can see making a difference to our people and our clients.
- A growing group of businesses with room for the role to grow with it.
- Annual team retreats in unforgettable locations, from Port Douglas and Uluru to Darwin in 2026. Our retreats are 3 fun filled days of team building, learning and of course, exploring the magic of our destination.. no year is the same!
- Employee wellness program including birthday leave, wellbeing days, work anniversaries, and team events
- Flexible working arrangements, including work-from-home options
- Ongoing learning, development, and progression opportunities
- Supportive leaders and a collaborative, high-performing team
- Dog-friendly Melbourne office and a genuinely enjoyable workplace
About The Role
This is a hands-on role. You will own every system AIG runs and how they fit together, and you will do much of the building yourself: configuring systems, connecting them and automating the work our teams do every day.
You will work directly with the CEO and the leadership team, and closely with our sales, marketing and delivery teams. A clear technology strategy is already in place. Your job is to own it and deliver it.
What you’ll do
- Own AIG’s systems end to end, including the system map and how tools connect.
- Simplify and consolidate our software so each part of the business has one clear home.
- Design, build and maintain integrations so data is entered once and flows where it’s needed.
- Build workflow automation in Microsoft 365, mainly SharePoint and Power Automate.
- Look after data security, access and record retention in a regulated, compliance-heavy industry.
- Manage our technology vendors and IT support partner, and keep licences and spend in check.
- Act as the gatekeeper for new tools, and write and maintain our IT policies.
- Once the foundations are solid, lead our first practical uses of AI in the business.
About You
You’re an experienced, proactive and solutions-focused technology professional who combines strategic thinking with strong hands-on technical expertise. You enjoy taking ownership, solving complex problems and finding smarter,
more efficient ways for technology to support people and business operations.
You understand that successful technology transformation is about more than implementing new systems. You can assess existing processes, identify opportunities for improvement, build and integrate practical solutions, and drive automation that delivers measurable results. You’re equally comfortable working independently on technical projects as you are collaborating with stakeholders, translating complex concepts into clear, practical solutions and bringing people along on the journey.
You’ll bring
- At least 5 years in a hands-on technology role such as systems lead, IT manager or solutions architect, ideally in a small or mid-sized business.
- Strong Microsoft 365 administration, especially SharePoint, Entra ID and Power Automate.
- Proven experience connecting SaaS tools through APIs, webhooks and integration platforms.
- Experience leading a data or document migration.
- Experience setting up and running a CRM, such as HubSpot, Pipedrive or Salesforce.
- A good grasp of security basics: MFA, access control, data retention and privacy.
- The ability to explain technical choices in plain language to people who aren’t technical.
- Confidence managing vendors and holding them to account.
Bonus points:
- Experience in professional services, especially legal, migration or another regulated industry.
- Scripting in Python or JavaScript.
- Experience with AWS or Azure.
- Reporting with Power BI or similar.
- Knowledge of the Privacy Act and Australian data residency requirements.
- Practical experience building or rolling out AI tools in a business.
