About the role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Horticultural Apprentice to join our growing team in the Southern Suburbs and Sutherland Shire area of Sydney, NSW. This is a fantastic full-time apprenticeship opportunity for someone passionate about plants, landscaping, and outdoor design. As a Horticulture Apprentice, you will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of horticulture and landscaping whilst working alongside experienced professionals.

This role is ideal for individuals looking to launch a rewarding career in the gardening and landscaping industry, combining practical training with formal qualifications.

Key responsibilities

- Assisting with the planting, maintenance, and care of gardens, landscaped areas, and outdoor spaces
- Learning proper techniques for soil preparation, plant selection, and landscape installation
- Watering, weeding, pruning, and general plant maintenance under supervision
- Operating and maintaining gardening tools and equipment safely and responsibly
- Developing knowledge of plant species, growing conditions, and seasonal care requirements

About you

- Currently enrolled or eligible to enrol in a Horticulture Parks and Gardens apprenticeship programme
- A genuine interest in plants, gardening, and outdoor design
- Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to learn new skills and take on practical tasks
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanour
- Reliability,



punctuality, and a strong work ethic
- A valid driver's licence or willingness to obtain one (desirable)
- Prior experience in gardening, landscaping, or horticulture (advantageous but not essential)
- Health and Safety awareness and commitment to working safely on site
