Merlina's Restaurant at Mermaid Beach Surf Life Saving Club, on Hedges Avenue right on the beach, is looking for a motivated Kitchen Hand or Apprentice Chef to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone with a passion for food who wants to start a career in the culinary industry. [Our kitchen hand role can lead to a full apprenticeship for the right person.]

Our experienced team of chefs will guide and train you, in a fun, qualified and supportive kitchen.

What you'll do

- Help prepare food to menu requirements under the direction of our chefs
- Learn and use a range of cooking methods
- Help produce consistent, high-quality dishes
- Keep the kitchen clean and maintain hygiene standards

What we're looking for

- A team player with good communication skills
- Someone who takes direction well,



is open-minded and eager to learn
- Strong attention to detail and consistency
- A positive, professional attitude
- Availability for [weekends / evenings / public holidays]
- Full working rights in Australia
- Food safety certificate – desirable, not essential
