About the Role

We are currently seeking a reliable and motivated Labourer / Trades Assistant to join our Canberra-based team. This is a hands-on role supporting our tradespeople across a range of projects throughout the ACT. You will assist qualified tradespeople with general labouring and trade-related activities, while also being expected to complete allocated tasks independently when required.

The role would ideally suit someone who already has experience working in construction as a labourer or trades assistant. Previous experience working alongside plumbers or within the plumbing industry will be highly regarded.

Key Responsibilities

Your duties will include:

- Assisting tradespeople with day-to-day site activities
- General construction and labouring duties
- Moving, loading and unloading materials and equipment
- Assisting with the installation and handling of pipework and plumbing materials
- Site set-up, clean-up and maintaining tidy work areas
- Use of basic hand and power tools
- Collecting and delivering materials where required
- Completing allocated tasks independently
- Following site safety requirements, SWMS and company procedures
- Working across various project sites throughout Canberra and the ACT

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience as a labourer or trades assistant within the construction industry
- Experience working alongside qualified tradespeople




- Plumbing or hydraulic services experience highly regarded
- Ability to confidently complete basic tasks without constant supervision
- Good practical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to use common hand and power tools
- A strong work ethic and willingness to assist wherever required
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Reliable transport and a current driver's licence
- A robust commitment to workplace safety

Mandatory ACT Construction Qualifications

Applicants must hold the relevant qualifications required to work on construction sites in the ACT, including:
- White Card
- Asbestos Awareness
- Silica Dust Awareness / Silica Training
