You will oversee day-to-day linehaul freight operations, liaise and support drivers, forklift operators and warehouse staff. The role requires strong practical coordinating and planning ability, with a hands-on approach. Ability to provide explicit direction, maintain safety and drive team performance.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the safe loading and unloading of linehaul and pickup-and-delivery vehicles
- Coordinate daily linehaul freight and movements
- Support drivers, forklift operators and warehouse staff, leading by example and providing clear direction
- Promote a strong safety first and compliance focused culture
- Coordinate workloads and resources to meet operational and customer requirements
- Resolve and escalate operational issues promptly
- Maintain a positive,
respectful and high-performing team workplace
- Maintain record keeping
- Meet NHVR standards and maintain all relevant records
- Negotiate Linehaul/Trip Rates
About you
- Previous experience in linehaul is an advantage
- Experience in transport, freight, logistics or warehouse operations is a plus
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong focus on safety, compliance and customer service
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a rapid-paced environment
- Knowledge of NHVR, CoR, ISO, HACCP and transport safety requirements
