We’re looking for a reliable, practical Machine Operator to join our Morningside team. This is a hands-on role operating packing machinery for a wide range of food ingredients, including herbs, spices, beans and lentils.

About the role

You’ll operate food weighing and packing machinery, including a multihead weigher and automatic bagging equipment, to pack dry ingredients such as herbs, spices, beans and lentils. Your role will include adjusting settings for different products and pack sizes, checking weights and seals, and changing packaging film as required. You’ll help keep production running safely and efficiently while ensuring finished packs meet our quality standards.

Your duties will include

- Setting up, operating and monitoring weighing and packing machinery
- Adjusting machine settings to suit different products and pack sizes
- Checking product weights, seals and finished packs throughout production
- Changing packing film as required
- Identifying and troubleshooting machine issues,



and reporting faults when further assistance is needed
- Cleaning machinery and the work area between products to prevent contamination
- Completing production, batch and quality records accurately
- Following food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures
- Working with the packing and warehouse teams to meet daily production requirements
- Assisting with other production and packing tasks when required

About you

You’ll be dependable, punctual and comfortable working with machinery. You’ll notice when something isn’t running correctly and take a practical approach to resolving it. We’re looking for someone with:
- Previous machine operating experience, preferably in food production or packaging
- A practical mindset and willingness to learn how our machines work
- Good attention to detail, particularly when checking weights, seals and product quality
- The ability to work independently after training and communicate well with the team
- A strong commitment to cleanliness, food safety and safe working practices
- The ability to carry out physical work and manual handling safely
- Flexibility to move between products and tasks as production needs change

Experience with multihead weighers or automatic packing machines is highly regarded. Applicants with other machine operating experience and a willingness to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Working hours and breaks

- Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 4:00 pm
- 15-minute paid morning break
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break
