Market Program Manager – OzHarvest Adelaide Market

Lead a vibrant community space where nourishing food and dignity meets.

OzHarvest’s Adelaide Market gives people in need free, barrier-free access to rescued food and a place of community. We’re looking for a Market Program Manager to run it, lead the team behind it and help shape where it goes next.

The role:

You’ll spend about two-thirds of your time on the floor, running day-to-day Market operations with a team of Community Workers and 10–20 volunteers. Your other key responsibilities are program management: creating processes, budgets, reporting, projects and work with government, agencies and the wider social sector. As a senior member of the SA team, you’ll also step in as OzHarvest’s main contact in SA when the General Manager is out of office.

What you’ll do:

- Run the Market safely and smoothly, from food supply and stock to WHS
- Lead, support and develop Community Workers and volunteers
- Make every community member feel welcome and respected, and stay calm when things get tense
- Build partnerships across government and the community sector
- Track impact and help shape the future of OzHarvest’s rescued food markets

About you:





- Experienced people leader who has managed both staff and volunteers, and is a great cultural fit
- A background in social services and hospitality, retail or similar
- Experience working with vulnerable communities, including de-escalation
- Organised, decisive and great communication with stakeholders
- A qualification in social work or community development, or equivalent experience
- Current Police Check, Working with Children Check, First Aid and Mental Health First Aid (or equivalent)
