About the role

Queensland Hydraulics is looking for an experienced Mechanical / Hydraulic Fitter in a workshop (90%) and onsite (10%) role. In the workshop you will be responsible for the assembly of hydraulic cylinders (new cylinders), and repair work (disassembly, inspection, repair, assembly, test of rams), and hydraulic power unit assembly (pipework and hydraulic component fitting of new systems) and at site you will be responsible for pipework installations, pressure testing and flushing, and commissioning. Site accommodation and food is provided.

Key responsibilities

- Disassembly, repair, reassembly and testing of hydraulic cylinders
- Assembling Hydraulic Power Units
- Welding duties
- Overseeing and being a role model to apprentices within the workshop on learning and practising correct and proven Fitting methods
- Pipework installations, pressure testing and flushing, and commissioning at site

About you

- Fitter trade with minimum 5 years' experience
- Hydraulics experience would be an advantage (however we are willing to train the right person)
- Welding TIG & MIG
- Ability to understand production drawings and produce quality workmanship, on time and to stated tolerances
- Reliable, hard-working,



with good attention to detail
- Positive attitude and ability to work in a team as well as autonomously
- Welding skills would be beneficial but not essential
