About Us
Air Receiver Testing Australia (ARTA) is a growing, family-owned business based on the Gold Coast, specialising in pressure vessel inspections, safety relief valve testing and compressed air pipework installations. We service a diverse range of industries throughout Queensland and Northern NSW, helping businesses maintain safe, compliant and reliable compressed air systems.
We're looking for a practical, mechanically minded technician to join our field service team.
About the Role
This is a hands-on, varied field service position suited to someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys problem-solving, working with tools and getting out on the road. You'll work across different customer sites, from smaller workshops to large industrial facilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Performing in-service inspections of air receivers
- Testing and tagging pressure safety relief valves
- Installing and modifying compressed air pipework and associated components
- Working with mechanical tools, fittings and compressed air equipment
- Identifying equipment defects, safety concerns and maintenance requirements
- Completing accurate inspection reports and service documentation
- Communicating professionally with customers on-site
- Travelling throughout South East Queensland, Northern NSW and regional areas
Training will be provided in our specialist inspection and testing procedures.
About You
We're particularly interested in candidates with a background in mechanical fitting, industrial maintenance, plumbing or other relevant mechanical trades. You don't need previous air receiver inspection experience. We're looking for the right mechanical skills, practical attitude and willingness to learn.
Ideally, you'll bring:
- A mechanical trade qualification or demonstrated relevant hands-on mechanical experience
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools and mechanical equipment
- An understanding of mechanical systems, fittings, valves or pipework
- Strong attention to detail and a safety-conscious approach
- The ability to troubleshoot and solve practical mechanical problems
- Good communication and customer service skills
- The ability to work independently and manage your day effectively
- Basic computer literacy and the ability to complete service reports
- A current driver's licence
- Willingness to travel, including regular overnight regional work
Experience with compressed air systems, air receivers, pneumatic equipment, plumbing or industrial maintenance will be highly regarded.
What We Offer
- $35–$45 per hour + super, depending on qualifications, experience and capability
- Permanent full time employment, 38 ordinary hours per week
- Specialist training and development in air receiver inspection and testing
- A varied role across different industries and work environments
- The opportunity to develop technical skills in a specialised industry
- A supportive, family-owned business with a growing team
- Long-term career opportunities as the business continues to expand
Interested?
If you're a mechanically minded tradesperson looking for something different from a traditional workshop or maintenance role, we'd love to hear from you. We value reliability, initiative, quality workmanship and a willingness to learn just as much as previous industry experience.
