Mechanical Site Engineer - FIFO | Renewable Energy Project

6-Month Contract | 2/1 Roster | Departing from Any East Coast Airport | Immediate Start

We're seeking a driven, hands-on Mechanical Site Engineer to join a Tier 1 contractor delivering a bespoke renewable energy project in Queensland.

This is an opportunity for a motivated early-career engineer to gain valuable site experience on a major mechanical piping package, working as part of a high-performing project team on a complex, large-scale infrastructure project.

This is a site-based engineering role, not a senior or management position. We're looking for someone who wants to be on the ground, get involved in the detail, roll up their sleeves and do the hard yards required to deliver a major project.

The Opportunity

Working on a major mechanical piping package, you'll be involved in the day-to-day delivery of site engineering activities, supporting construction progress, coordinating trades and ensuring works are completed safely, efficiently and to specification.

You'll work closely with the site supervision and project teams, gaining exposure to the practical challenges of delivering complex mechanical works within a Tier 1 project environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Provide day-to-day site engineering support across a major mechanical piping package.
- Assist with planning, coordinating and monitoring mechanical construction activities.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications and technical documentation.
- Coordinate subcontractors, trades and site resources to support construction progress.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries, ITPs, inspections and quality documentation.
- Track progress against construction schedules and identify potential issues early.
- Assist with resolving technical and constructability issues in the field.
- Maintain accurate site records, reports and as-built documentation.
- Work closely with supervisors, construction personnel and the wider project team to drive safe, quality outcomes.
- Get involved in the practical,



hands-on tasks that keep construction moving.

About You We're targeting Mechanical Engineers with 1-3 years of site-based experience who are keen to build their careers on a major project.

You'll ideally bring

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 1-3 years' experience in a site-based engineering role, ideally within mechanical construction, piping, resources, energy or infrastructure.
- A practical, solutions-focused mindset and a genuine interest in construction delivery.
- The confidence to get out on site, engage with trades and work through problems on the ground.
- Strong communication, organisation and attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude and the willingness to take ownership of day-to-day engineering tasks.
- The resilience and work ethic required to thrive in a demanding FIFO construction workplace.

We're not looking for a Senior Engineer or someone seeking a management position. This role will suit an engineer who is happy to get their hands dirty, tackle the grunt work, learn from experienced construction professionals and contribute wherever they're needed.

- Contract: Initial 6-month contract.

- Roster: FIFO on a 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster.
- Flights: Departures available from any major East Coast Australian airport.
