An established Australian manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Fabrication & Assembly Production Manager to lead its metal fabrication and assembly operations in Western Sydney.

This is a hands-on leadership position overseeing a busy production environment responsible for custom and semi-custom metal fabrication and assembly orders. The role requires someone who can effectively manage people, production schedules, quality and competing customer requirements while maintaining a strong focus on safety and efficiency.

The Role

Reporting to senior management, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the Metal Fabrication and Assembly departments.

Key responsibilities include

- Lead and coordinate metal fabrication and assembly teams
- Oversee custom and semi-custom fabrication and assembly orders
- Manage production schedules and ensure works orders are completed on time
- Work closely with production planning to manage priorities and workflow
- Monitor labour efficiency, productivity and quality
- Coordinate the preparation and handover of finished goods
- Ensure quality inspections, testing and documentation are completed
- Identify opportunities to improve production processes, efficiency and cost
- Monitor materials and production consumables
- Support machinery setup and production requirements




- Lead toolbox meetings and maintain strong WHS standards
- Induct, train and develop production employees
- Support stocktake and production administration requirements
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Trade qualification in a relevant metal trades discipline
- Solid sheet metal fabrication experience
- Experience within laser cutting and welding environments
- Previous supervisory or production leadership experience
- Strong production planning and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and changing priorities
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Practical problem-solving and continuous improvement capability
- Robust commitment to quality and workplace safety
