You’re a massive people person. You have high EQ, you read people well and you genuinely enjoy supporting them. You’re the person who notices when someone’s struggling, makes the new starter feel instantly welcome and somehow gets the quietest person in the office talking.

You’re highly organised, tech savvy and proactive. You can have ten different things happening at once without losing your head, and you don’t need a perfectly documented SOP before you can act. In fact, you quite like looking at something messy and thinking, “Right. How can we make this better?”

You are good at managing people and used to being the person people go to for help.

Admin, accounts, invoices, excel, onboarding staff, writing recent procedures/templates from scratch are all part of your years of experience, perhaps you have been an EA or Office & Operations Manager before.

You are hands on and don't just want or need a team who does things for you, but you like to get in there and get the work done yourself, from creating new HR policies, to following existing procedures, managing staff, clients, organising admin and a dozen things going in all directions at once.

Most importantly, you’re humble, hungry & smart. There’s no ego and no “that’s not in my .” If you can help, you help.

This role is Office Manager for Paragon Engineering in Liverpool. 5 days a week in the office.

Paragon is relatively young, ambitious and growing really quickly. They’re a team of around 20 staff delivering genuinely complex engineering - bridges, tunnels, deep excavations, water infrastructure - for government, councils and major utilities, on high profile projects. Despite their size, they deliver the calibre of work you'd expect from a firm many times the size.

Paragon is also transitioning towards employee ownership, creating the potential for the right person to eventually invest in the company and genuinely become part of what they're helping build.
