SPS PAINTING — PAINTER

Location: Brisbane, QLD

Hours: 38 hours per week

Salary: $79,423 to $85,000 per annum plus superannuation

SPS Painting is seeking an experienced and motivated Painter to join our growing team. This is an excellent prospect for a skilled tradesperson to work on a variety of residential, commercial, and industrial painting projects throughout Queensland.

About the Role The successful applicant will be responsible for carrying out painting and surface preparation work to a high standard while ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare interior and exterior surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, filling cracks and holes, removing old paint or wallpaper, and applying sealants where required.

Examine surfaces and determine appropriate preparation and painting methods.

Mix and match paints, stains, and coatings to achieve required colours and finishes.

Apply paints, varnishes, stains, enamels, and protective coatings using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.

Apply undercoats and finishing coats to a range of surfaces, including timber, metal, plaster, concrete, and masonry.

Operate and maintain painting tools, equipment, and materials safely and efficiently.

Calculate and manage paint and material requirements for projects.





Ensure painting work is completed to company quality standards and project specifications.

Maintain clean and safe work areas, including the proper disposal of waste materials.

Comply with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies at all times.

Coordinate with supervisors, contractors, and other trades to ensure projects are completed on schedule.

Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have:

At least two (2) years of relevant work experience as a Painter.

A strong understanding of painting techniques, surface preparation, and finishing methods.

The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and attention to detail.

A commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.

A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various work sites when required.

Desirable Qualifications

Certificate III in Painting and Decorating or equivalent trade qualification.

Experience working across multiple projects simultaneously within commercial, residential, or industrial environments.
