About the role

The Morley Family Farm is seeking a Dairy Hand and Maintenance professional to join our team on a full-time basis at our Gormandale, VIC location. This role is central to the smooth operation of our dairy farm, combining hands‑on dairy work with essential maintenance responsibilities. You will be responsible for ensuring our animals are well cared for and that all equipment and facilities are maintained to the highest standards, directly contributing to the productivity and success of our operation.

Key responsibilities

- Ability to work in and around our dairy which milks cows autonomously with no human interaction
- Observing milking operations and managing milking equipment to ensure efficient and hygienic processes
- Monitoring animal health and welfare and preforming health treatment tasks promptly
- Performing routine feeding and water provision for dairy cattle
- Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards throughout the dairy facility and milking areas
- Undertaking general farm maintenance tasks, including repairs to fences, gates and farm infrastructure
- Servicing and maintaining farm equipment and machinery to ensure safe and reliable operation
- Assisting with animal husbandry practices, including handling and movement of cattle
- Keeping detailed records of daily operations and maintenance activities
- Supporting seasonal operations and special projects as required

What we're looking for

- Proven experience working in mechanical maintenance setting or similar.
- Be willing to learn all aspects of autonomous, free traffic dairy farming.
- Understand that the roster will include some weekend work.




- Physical fitness and the ability to work in all weather conditions.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare, high hygiene and maintenance standards.
- Reliable and punctual work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- A valid driver's licence
- Willingness to undertake training and develop skills in both dairy and maintenance areas

We are an established dairy farm operation based in Gormandale, Victoria. We are committed to maintaining high standards of animal welfare, sustainable farming practices and operational excellence. Our reputation is built on quality production and a dedicated team that takes pride in their work. We operate 6 x Lely A5 milking robots, milking up to 400 cows. We split calve in July/August and also in March/April. We use up to date app based technology (Lely Horizon and Resolution Farm Software) to monitor not only the herd but all aspects of our farm.
