Defence Coating Systems (DCS) is seeking a motivated Production Operator to join our established Australian manufacturing team. You will work hands-on in our South Australian facility, supporting protective coatings, abrasive blasting, chemical pre-treatment and powder coating operations across the Defence and industrial sectors.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare components and surfaces for coating, including cleaning, masking and general surface preparation
- Assist with abrasive blasting, chemical pre-treatment, powder coating and protective coating processes
- Load, unload, hang and handle parts throughout the production process
- Ensure safety and cleanliness standards are followed throughout the production process
- Follow all workplace health, safety and environmental requirements
- Inspect finished products to ensure they meet quality standards and job specifications
- Follow work instructions, production schedules and quality procedures
- Document production data and maintain accurate records for tracking and reporting purposes
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production targets and customer requirements
About you
- At least 1 year of experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- At least AQF Certificate II qualification in Manufacturing, Production Machinery or a related field
- Basic knowledge of surface treatment and industrial coatings
- Ability to interpret coating systems and technical drawings
- Positive attention to detail and a strong focus on product quality and consistency
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment and follow instructions carefully
- A reliable, practical and positive approach to work
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a team
- Ability to follow production procedures, technical instructions and safety requirements accurately
