Project Manager – Waste & Resource Recovery

Location: Narangba, QLD

Rate: $900–$1,100/day + super

Contract: Initial 4-month contract with possibility of extension

We’re seeking an experienced Project Manager – Waste & Resource Recovery to join the local councilteam.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced infrastructure or engineering project qualified with a background in waste management, landfill infrastructure, wastewater treatment, leachate management or resource recovery to deliver projects that improve environmental outcomes and reduce risks across Council’s waste management facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage small to medium infrastructure projects from planning and procurement through to delivery and handover.
- Oversee projects involving piping, pumping systems, wastewater treatment and waste management infrastructure.
- Develop project scopes, business cases, options assessments and procurement documentation.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, technical specialists and site operations teams.
- Manage contracts, project budgets, schedules, risks and progress reporting.
- Review and assess contractor payment claims against project requirements.
- Provide engineering advice and ensure compliance with Australian standards, construction legislation, WHS and environmental requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve waste and wastewater management and environmental performance.

About You: To be successful in this role, you will have:





- Ideally 5+ years of experience managing engineering or capital infrastructure projects.
- Experience delivering infrastructure, construction or operational improvement projects.
- Background in waste management, landfill operations, leachate management, wastewater treatment or resource recovery will be highly regarded.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, construction legislation, Australian standards, WHS and contract administration.
- Proven experience managing contractors, project costs, schedules and competing priorities.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Engineering or a related qualification, or relevant industry experience.
- A current Queensland C Class Driver’s Licence.
- A current Construction Induction Card (White Card) obtained or used within the past two years.
