About the role

Fast Wok Chinese and Malaysian Restaurant is seeking an experienced and qualified Restaurant Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our restaurant in Mermaid Waters, Gold Coast. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing restaurant operations, recruiting and supervising staff, coordinating rosters, controlling inventory, maintaining service quality and ensuring compliance with relevant food safety and workplace requirements. This position requires a hands-on management professional with strong leadership, organisational and operational skills, capable of maintaining high service standards and supporting the restaurant's ongoing business performance in a fast-paced dining setting.

Key responsibilities

- Plan, organise and oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure efficient service and smooth business operations.
- Recruit, select, onboard, train and supervise restaurant employees.
- Prepare staff rosters, allocate shifts and coordinate staffing requirements according to operational demand.
- Lead and support front-of-house staff to deliver professional and consistent customer service.
- Coordinate with kitchen staff to maintain efficient food preparation and service delivery.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage stock records, coordinate purchasing and minimise unnecessary wastage.




- Assist with budgeting, labour cost monitoring and operational expense control.
- Monitor customer feedback, resolve complaints and implement improvements to service quality.
- Maintain restaurant presentation, cleanliness and compliance with applicable food safety, workplace health and safety requirements.
- Review operational procedures and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, staff performance and customer satisfaction.

About you

- A Diploma or Advanced Diploma in Hospitality Management, or an equivalent relevant qualification.
- 3–5 years of relevant experience in the hospitality or restaurant industry, including restaurant operations and staff supervision.
- Demonstrated experience in staff recruitment, rostering, training and team management.
- Experience in inventory control, purchasing and operational cost management.
- Strong leadership, communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and lead a team in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
- A professional, proactive and hands-on approach to restaurant management.
