Are you the kind of person who lights up a room and loves making customers feel welcome? Kalis is looking for a warm, friendly Retail Liquor Manager to lead one of our liquor retail stores in Launceston.

You’ll lead the team, get to know your customers, and keep the store looking beautiful every day, not just clean and tidy. Your job is to bring the store’s look to life on the floor and keep it there, so the store stays fresh, inviting and easy to shop.

You don’t need to be a liquor expert. You’ll report to our Northern Regional Manager, who will guide you through the product, licensing and operational side of liquor retail. What we need from you is a big, friendly personality, real pride in how your store looks, and a genuine love of looking after people.

What You’ll Do

As Store Manager, you’ll own its day-to-day running from opening day. That means:

- Welcoming every customer with a warm, friendly manner and making their visit genuinely enjoyable

- Leading and coaching the team to deliver outstanding customer service every day

- Keeping the store looking beautiful, not just clean: shelves full, displays sharp, and planograms and promotions set up to standard

- Building a loyal local customer base and making the store part of the Launceston community

- Overseeing daily operations, including stock ordering, rotation, loss control and POS





- Working closely with the Northern Regional Manager to learn the liquor retail side of the business and meet all liquor licensing and compliance obligations

What You’ll Bring

We care more about your retail instincts and leadership style than about liquor experience. You’ll likely have:

- A big, friendly personality. You love chatting with people and making them feel welcome.

- Previous management or senior leadership experience in retail (fashion, homewares, specialty, grocery or similar)

- A strong eye for merchandising, displays and store presentation

- Pride in your store and high standards for how it looks and runs
- A natural ability to motivate, develop and get the best out of a team

- Strong communication skills and a natural ability to build rapport with customers

- Confidence resolving customer concerns and staying composed under pressure
- A willingness to learn about liquor and wine. We’ll support you with this.

- A current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certification, or a willingness to obtain one before starting

- Flexibility to work across 7 days, including evenings and weekends
