About the Role

Village News & Tobacco is looking for a reliable, honest and friendly Retail Sales Assistant to join our team in Upper Mount Gravatt.

We are looking for someone with previous experience in Lotto and tobacconist retail who can work independently, provide excellent customer service and assist with daily store operations.

Key Responsibilities

- Serving customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Processing Lotto tickets, payouts and other lottery transactions
- Operating POS systems and handling cash accurately
- Selling tobacco products in accordance with legal requirements
- Restocking shelves and maintaining stock displays
- Keeping the store clean, tidy and organised
- Assisting with daily opening and closing procedures

Requirements

- Applicants must be 18 years or older, as the role involves handling and selling tobacco products.
- Previous experience in Lotto and tobacconist retail is highly preferred.
- Must be available to work both weekdays and weekends.




- Able to commit to approximately 15–25 hours per week.
- Reliable, honest, punctual and responsible.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Confident in handling cash and operating POS systems.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willing to learn and follow store procedures.

Pay: $27.00 – $35.00 per hour Expected hours: 10.0 – 20.0 per week
