About the Role

Securecorp is seeking a professional and experienced Retail Security Officer to join our team at a busy retail precinct in North Lakes. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a customer-focused environment, maintaining a strong security presence and helping create a safe and welcoming experience for retailers, employees and visitors.

You will play an important role in protecting the precinct, preventing theft and antisocial behaviour, monitoring site activity and responding to incidents as they arise. Working closely with retailers, management and members of the public, you will help maintain a secure environment while delivering professional customer service and upholding Securecorp's high standards.

This is a part-time opportunity offering a consistent, fortnightly rotating roster across Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with a mix of morning, afternoon and evening shifts.

Roster

- Week 1: Thursday 1:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Friday 1:00 pm – 8:30 pm, Saturday 11:00 am – 6:00 pm
- Week 2: Thursday 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, Saturday 8:30 am – 5:30 pm

Key Responsibilities

- Maintain a visible and professional security presence throughout the retail precinct.
- Deliver friendly, skilled customer service while assisting retailers, employees and visitors.
- Conduct regular foot patrols to identify security risks, suspicious activity and potential hazards.




- Monitor site activity and proactively identify and address theft, antisocial behaviour and loss prevention concerns.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to incidents, alarms, emergencies and customer complaints.
- Support access control, crowd management and the enforcement of site rules and procedures.
- Liaise with retailers, site management, emergency services and other stakeholders as required.
- De-escalate challenging situations using effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
- Complete accurate incident reports, daily logs and other required security documentation.
- Follow all site procedures, safety requirements and relevant legislative obligations.

Skills & Experience

- Current Queensland Security Licence with Crowd Control endorsement (mandatory).
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- Previous experience in retail security or a similar customer-facing security role.
- Strong communication, observation and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to remain calm, professional and proactive when responding to incidents.
- A customer-focused approach with the confidence to interact with a diverse range of people.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to complete accurate written reports.
- Reliability, punctuality and the ability to commit to the advertised rotating roster.
- Professional presentation and a commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming retail environment.
