About the role

As a Yard Hand, you will be responsible for preparing equipment for mobilisation, maintaining the yard, loading and unloading trucks, inspecting components, and supporting the operational team with the safe and effective movement of crane and hoist equipment. This is a physically active, hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in maintaining a safe and organised workplace.

Key responsibilities

- Prepare crane, hoist and lifting equipment for mobilisation to site.
- Load and unload trucks safely using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Inspect equipment for damage, cleanliness and serviceability prior to dispatch and upon return.
- Assist with the assembly and preparation of crane packs, hoist packs, tower sections, collars and associated equipment.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe yard environment.
- Carry out general yard maintenance and housekeeping.
- Assist with stock control and equipment movements.
- Complete basic documentation and inspection records.
- Work closely with electricians, riggers and technicians to support operational requirements.

About you

- Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, construction, transport or heavy industry environment.
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety.
- A positive attitude with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.




- Positive organisational skills and attention to detail.
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- A current unrestricted Driver's Licence.
- A current Forklift Licence (or willingness to obtain one).
- Experience within the crane, lifting or construction industry (highly desirable).
- Dogging and/or High Risk Work Rigging Licence (highly desirable).
- Basic mechanical aptitude or experience maintaining plant and equipment (highly desirable).
